While completing her graduate degree studying mindfulness in children, Catherine turned to yoga as an outlet for burnout and loneliness. What she thought was another way to exercise her stress and emotions away quickly became much more. With every practice, she deepened her mind-body connection, noticing how yoga postures and breathing affected her mind and how her thoughts and emotions affected her body. Catherine continues to merge her personal yoga practice with the academic study of yoga through research projects on the topics of breathwork, emotions, and nervous system regulation. Catherine’s classes encourage students to come home to their minds and bodies, to pay attention to the here and now, and to reset their nervous system through movement and breathwork.
